Questions, answered.
Find answers about getting started, what training involves, and how scheduling works.
A little clarity.A confident start.
What happens during my free introductory visit?
Your introductory visit takes about an hour. You'll have an open conversation with your trainer about your exercise history, goals, and any physical limitations. We'll also complete fitness and mobility assessments, get to know you, and discuss how training can fit into your lifestyle.
Do I need to be fit or have exercise experience before starting?
Not at all. Whether you haven't exercised in years, recently finished a marathon, or struggle to touch your toes, we start with your current abilities. You don't need to get in shape before coming in—that's what we're here to help with.
Is the introductory visit really free?
Yes. Your introductory visit is completely free, with no obligation to purchase anything. Come with an open mind and use the time to ask questions, meet your trainer, and see whether Body Coach feels right for you.
What should I wear or bring to my first visit?
Wear clothing you feel comfortable exercising in. No special equipment is needed—just bring yourself.
What ages and ability levels do you work with?
We've trained clients as young as nine and as old as 90. Many of our clients are in their 40s, 50s, and beyond. We also work with people who have disabilities, joint concerns, past injuries, or limitations following surgery. Tell us about your circumstances so we can discuss an appropriate starting point. For younger children, contact us to discuss suitability.
How long is a regular workout?
Your dedicated one-on-one session with your trainer lasts 30 minutes. Many clients arrive 15–20 minutes early for their warm-up and stay afterward for approximately 20 minutes of cardio.
How is my training program personalized?
Your trainer considers your goals, current abilities, and how you move through each exercise. Through regular conversations about your progress and interests, we adjust your workouts and explore new challenges as you're ready. We can also use body measurements and body-fat percentage measurements to help track changes over time.
Will I work with the same trainer?
Generally, yes. Working consistently with the same trainer helps them understand your goals, preferences, and progress. You'll communicate directly with your trainer about scheduling and your training needs.
How often should I train? Can I start with once a week?
Yes, you can start with once a week. Some clients train once weekly for guidance alongside other exercise; others train with us as often as five times a week. Your trainer will help you choose a frequency that fits your goals, schedule, and activities outside the studio. You can also ask your trainer for guidance on exercises to do between appointments.
What does “private studio” mean?
You'll train in a personal training studio with a welcoming, community atmosphere. Other clients and trainers may be working out at the same time, so “private” does not mean you'll have the entire studio to yourself. Your scheduled one-on-one coaching time is dedicated to you.
Can I train with my spouse, a friend, or a family member?
Yes. Speak directly with your trainer so we can discuss the arrangement and schedule appropriately. Training packages can also be shared with your spouse or family members.
How much does personal training cost? Do I need a membership?
You can purchase individual sessions or a training package. Packages offer a lower price per workout than individual sessions, with pricing depending on the package you choose. Contact us to discuss the options and find a fit for your schedule and goals. There are no membership fees or ongoing commitments.
How do I schedule appointments?
Training is by appointment, and you'll communicate directly with your trainer to arrange your schedule. Many clients reserve the same days and times each week to build a consistent routine. To arrange your introductory visit, you can book online or call us. If you have questions before getting started, we encourage you to call and speak with our team.
Do training packages expire?
No. Our training packages do not expire. If you travel, become ill, or need to take a break, you can return and resume using your remaining sessions.
Is there somewhere to change and store my belongings?
Yes. We have a changing area and lockers where you can store your belongings during your visit.
